3 tips to help you spend that much needed time with God

Have you spent any time with God today?

Most Christians know that it's super important to spend time with God everyday. We know that we should be reading our bibles, we know that we should be praying and meditating but we often times don't because life is just so busy.

Trust me, I totally get it. My wife and I have 7 kids with 6 still living at home ranging in ages from 3 to 18 and we are a blended family. We are pastors of our church and I also work about 50+ hours a week as an operation manager for a company with about 60 employees. My days start around 4:30 am and then start wrapping up around 9:30 pm with very little time for a break in between.

Here are a 3 tips to help you spend that much needed time with God no matter how busy your schedule is. I know you can do it!

#1 You don't have to make your time alone with God look like someone else's time with God. You do not have to create the perfect Instagram photo with the cup of coffee and the bible open to just the right scripture, even though I love seeing those photos it doesn't have to happen that way.

#2 You don't have to have a certain time limit in order to make it count. As long as its purposeful, deliberate and focused it could be 3 minutes, 30 min or 3 hours and it all counts, and it's all meaningful time to God.

#3 If you miss your time with God one day just start all over again the next day. God is not going anywhere just because you missed one moment in time. He is always there for you and waiting for you to come to him, any day, any time.

Spending time with God is vital for all Christians and if you haven't done it then you really don't know what you are missing. If you have questions or helpful advice then leave them in the comments.

Make today a good day by making it a God day.

Very good and meaningful tips to simplify time spent with God. I am making more of a conscious effort to do so as a way of calming my anxieties and stress of the day.
